The case for active management

01 April 2015

Chris Ralph shares his thoughts on the importance of active management for long-term investors.

In recent months the financial pages have been filled with stories arguing the case for and against active management; the active versus passive debate. This note from Chris Ralph, Chief Investment Officer for St. James's Place, states the case for active management and explains why identifying truly active managers remains at the core of the St. James's Place investment approach.

The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up.  You may get back less than you invested. If you have any further questions, please contact your St. James’s Place Partner.
